Financial Fitness Tournament
The Keys FCU Financial Fitness Tournament takes place in the Spring. Teams of three high school students compete in area events for each of the Upper Keys, Middle Keys and Key West/Lower Keys. The winning team from each area event competes in the Keys Championship final to determine the team that represents the Florida Keys in the State Tournament. The tournament entry fees are covered by sponsorships from local companies.

2020 Regional Event
Due to Covid-19 we were unable to run the Keys Championship event. All area winners were invited to compete in the Regional Tournament, as individuals, which was held online. The students competed against individuals from Florida, Georgia and Alabama.
Verity Pond placed 1st in the Regional Final and won $1,000.
Ashley Pond placed 3rd in the Regional Final and won $300.

2020 Area Winners
Upper Keys
Coral Shores High School students (L to R) Dominic Austin, Roy Lindback and Jessica Koval, sponsored by Keys Weekly Newspapers, received $1,500.00 and the title of Upper Keys Financial Fitness Champions. Middle Keys
“The Goldilocks” from Marathon High School were crowned Middle Keys Champions and took home the $1,500 prize. The team was sponsored by Wellings Automotive, Kia in Marathon and comprised of Taylor Sokolosky, Frank Dupey and Hayley Dargay. Also pictured is Jim Murphy from Marathon High School, team coach.
Lower Keys and Keys West
The Lower Keys and Key West title went to The Bigger Brains from Somerset Collegiate Prep in Key West and sponsored by Keys Weekly Newspapers. Chase Alsobrooks, Ashley Pond and Verity Pond each received $500 and were the returning Keys Champions from the 2019 event. 2019 Regional Event
The Big Brains from The Key West Collegiate Academy won the Florida State event and attended the 2019 Regional Final in Orlando. Competing against teams from around the region the team placed 3rd overall and, in addition to receiving their expenses paid trip to the competition, won $300 each. Congratulations!
2019 Keys Champions
The Big Brains from the Key West Collegiate Academy were the 2019 Keys Champions and will compete at the State level at the end of April.
