In 1940, a group of Civil Service Employees on Naval Air Station Key West received a federal charter and founded NAVSTA Federal Employees Federal Credit Union. Our founders believed if they worked together, they could provide more affordable financial services for everyone. They had a vision, and over 80 years later their vision, of putting people before profits, is Keys Federal Credit Union.

Keys FCU membership is open to everyone who lives or works in the Florida Keys, their families out of the Keys, and our local military community. And, like you, we live and work here too. We make decisions that benefit our community, not Wall St. Like a neighbor, we can take the time to get to know you and truly provide personal service. Our member-owners are our friends, neighbors, and even family. We understand the Keys uniqueness, traditions, and economy. You can count on us to use our local knowledge and experience to create a community we’re proud to call home.

Keys FCU is not mandated to support community organizations as banks are. For over 80 years we’ve supported a variety of service organizations throughout Monroe County simply because we care about our neighbors and our community. We strive to strengthen our connection with you and improve the quality of life for our neighbors in need of financial services.

Credit Unions are not-for-profit financial cooperatives designed to serve their local communities. Financial cooperatives are made up of people who pool their money together to help each other. Keys FCU helps other locals with lower loan rates and higher savings rates than most banks. Our goal is to help each other, not make a profit. You’re an Owner!

When you join Keys FCU, you’re more than a member; you’re an owner! You own a piece of the credit union and receive a share of our profits in the form of lower loan rates, higher savings rates, personal service, low or no cost services, and CASH BACK Rewards. You also have a say in how the credit union is managed through our volunteer Board of Directors. You get to vote for our volunteer board members and have an opportunity to run for open seats on the board.

We follow conservative investment practices, lend responsibly, and operate within our financial means. Your funds are federally insured by the NCUA up to at least $250,000 for individual accounts including savings, checking, money market and share certificates.

At most banks, transactions completed after 2 p.m. are not credited to your account until the next business day. We process transactions on the same day; with no 2:00 p.m. cut-off time so you can access your funds faster. Keys Federal Credit Union looks at you as a person, not just your history. Our local lending team uses their knowledge of the Keys economy and workforce to make fast loan decisions with flexible repayment options. Whether you need a little or a lot, we have a loan for you!
